Johanna har pluggat Concept Art och Animation i Vancouver

”I attended the Concept Art and Animation program and graduated in March 2021. Which means that I was in Vancouver during the first year of the pandemic, unfortunate since that affected my time at Vancouver Film School with lockdowns and online courses instead of spending time at campus.

However, I really think the school did a great job at adapting quickly and doing their absolute best to make sure the quality of our education wouldn’t be lacking.

One of the many things I really liked about the education was the close contact you had with the teachers, for each course there was always time set aside to have a private chat with the teacher to discuss and help improve your work. I found it to be very supporting, both for my work and for my personal well-being. A special thanks to Ken Henderson, who helped me a lot during my final project.

I’m currently working part-time as a teacher myself for an online course in digital painting, and since I know how important it was for me to have a voice of reason when you’re feeling out of it and not too confident about what you’re doing, I make sure to have the same policy of an ”open door” where people can always contact me to have a chat about their work.

All in all, I had a great year at VFS and always look back on it fondly!”
